The China International Design Biennial for University Students is China’s only international comprehensive exhibition in this eld, aiming to establish an international platform for exchanges on design education in different cultural contexts and for university students majoring in Design to show their talents and levels, and to promote the sustainable development of design education and practice. The assessment and selection of works will, with reference to the process of international professional competitions, invite experts, scholars and designers well-known at home and abroad to serve as judges and select works for exhibition and works of excellence. At the Biennale, the “International Design Education Seminar” will be held and the Excellent Works of China International College Students Design Biennale will be published.

Design works are restricted to Chinese font and English font. There is no restriction on carriers and expression methods. The modern expression form of traditional font and innovative experimental works are encouraged.

The Chinese Zodiac symbolizes traditional Chinese folk culture. It corresponds to people’s birth year and becomes an image system possessing rich connotation and being widely used in folk culture. The theme of this kind of exhibited works is “The Chinese Zodiac” , you can design a set of twelve zodiac’s images, or design only one zodiac separately, the former is encouraged. Any forms and expression methods can be used, and innovative experimental works are encouraged.
All works should be created within 2 years before the deadline. Each participant should submit no more than 3 works and a series of works will be counted as one work.
Works submitted should be original and all the authors of a team work should be students.
Works may be submitted via the official website (http:// cidb.design.cn) of this activity which requires participants to register an account and upload the works to the specified e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org). (1) The format of uploading work files online: The works are arranged in A4 format, 300 pixels, RGB color mode, JPG file format, and the size of a single file is not more than 5M. (2) The format of e-mailing exhibition board files: exhibition board files with the same content are needed to be e-mailed to the organizing committee’s contact e-mail for later final assessment and exhibition. Exhibition board is in the size of 60x85cm, 200 pixels, RGB color mode, and JPG file format.
If any work violates the rules or is found to have plagiarized or any dispute over copyright or intellectual property right is found, the relevant participant will be disqualified by the Organizing Committee and have to solely bear the consequences.
